Last night me and fellow kakis went for a short

luring session to catch the incoming tide for some

good fish action..

Less than 5mins upon reaching the spot, i hit a

good sized barracuda on popper but was cut off

after few seconds.. We do had plenty of hits after

that but none was landed..

About an hour later, my new born lurer

hit and successfully landed this good sized

barramundi which provide a really awesome

fight for a beginner..

Feeding Frenzy

Me and Nizam went to a spot with too many

of these fishes and it's like a feeding frenzy..

We had our fun thru out the session and we

didn't took much photos coz we're just too

busy with the frenzies!! :)

Me and Kas went for a nice luring session this

morning and landed one respectable fish each,

while Mr Apy can't tag along with us on this trip..

Less than 5mins upon reaching the spot, this nice

sized barra rushed to hit my lure to greet me first,

and as the tide rises up slowly, Kas landed himself

an even nicer sized tiger grouper.. :)

morning with Kas and Doctor.. We decided

to head home after Kas landed his first fish

on lure after few trips and hard work..

This morning, 3 of us went to catch the outgoing

tide for some barra action at spot 'A', unfortunately

we got ourself zero hit there, maybe due to the

freezing cold water at that area..

Since our hands are too itchy to go home, i came

out with another plan, go to spot 'B' and catch

the incoming tide...hahaha... We immediately

stop fishing and go for a quick breakfast before

we proceed for our plan 'B'...

Less than 5mins at spot 'B', Aziz aka 'doctor' got

himself 2 hits but missed.. After changing the

treble hooks to a slightly bigger ones, he finally

landed his first mighty barramundi on lure...

Followed by me, and me again... :)

Although our catches today are pretty small,

it's still a fish.. We had our fun! :)

Went for queenie session this morning with

Apy and Aziz immediately after i end work.....

We meet up @ Al-salam 24hrs around 5.45am

for a quick breakfast... :)

To our surprise, Apy is driving a 23 seater

bus this morning!!! Hahaha the feeling is like

we're gonna go for excursion to malaysia and

we cant stop making fun out of it!!

After our quick breakfast, Apy rushed to park

his 'super transporter' somewhere near my

place and we head straight to our fishing spot

by Aziz's car... :)

all 3 of us had few hits, but only mine

make it... That's the sad thing about

queenie...they can't last that long

Invitation trip 'Bait and Lure'..

This morning Gary (Changi Village) and buddies invited

me for light boat fishing @ Changi waters to catch the

incoming tide.. They're actually spinning live prawns

but still invites me to tag along for some luring

actions by my own...so nice of him.. :)

We fished a few spots but live prawns doesn't seems

to work that well... Total of 2 mongrove jacks and

1 small grouper landed by me on soft plastic

and hard bodied lure.. While Gary and Chris

landed even smaller grouper than mine..b4

i took out my camera, they already

unhooked the fishes and throw

them back in the water..lol!!

Although we didn't catch much fish, it's

still a fun trip! :)

Went for a quickie luring session this morning

immediately after work with a friend.. Although

sleepy and tired, still have the urge to catch the

outgoing tide for a bit.. Total of 3 hits, 1 dropped

and only 1 small MJ landed...

the monsters once again coz my catches just

went down in sizes recently..although it's

not an easy task... :)

Long Lost Spot...

Decided to give this long lost spot a visit to see if the

fishes are still there... Upon reaching the spot on my

very first cast, i got a strong sharp hit and missed it..

Same goes to my second cast, hit and missed... :)

But before my third cast, i changed to my favourite

lure and boomzz!!!! My second fish landed within

10mins and we decided to head home... :) cheers!

Nothing special about this post, just a cheap thrill

from the freshwater after some failure on the salt

due to rain and water condition is just not right

this morning..

Will be back to the salt again around mid April

Its been awhile since i last went for my luring

session. Last night me and Apy went to kill some

itch on a last minute planning. I landed myself a

12lbs barramundi while Apy lost his second fish

during the fight. However his first barramundi

still not a bad size..

A trip with full of disappointment at first but

great happiness in the end.... :)

old barramundi playground to see if they're

still around..... Yes they do!!

Only 2 cute little barra's of the same size

come out to greet me within 10mins upon

reaching the spot...and a cute little

tiger grouper by Mac...

him a hell of a fight for a first timer...but as long as

Last night we went to try out our newly spot to see

if the barra there will still bite on the neap tide..

Yes they do!! Total number of 3 barra landed by

me and Rudy..

while i'am doing some knocking on the grouper's

Yesterday's luring session was awesome. Me, Apy and one

of our newbie gang member Rudy, went for a recce trip in search

for barra infested water.. When we reached the spot 'X',

i landed 3 barra within 15mins.. As the tide is getting lower,

my newbie friend also landed a nice size too as Apy only got

3 hit but zero landed.. hehehe...

Total of 6 hits 4 landed on our new barra spot, not bad!!

Last night i was invited by my colleague to fish at a

restricted zone somewhere in singapore to try my

luck and wet my lure there, after heard too many

stories about that place that makes me itching

the whole body. :) Reached the spot at 12mn and

i started casting soon after that. 15mins later,

boomz! Good hard fight........

Landed myself a nice 14lbs barramundi..

But just when the tide is getting better, i just

lost my concentration to fish coz i'am just too too

tired and damn sleepy....so sad...

Anyway, its a good spot and worth to come back

again...

17th Oct 2010 me and Apy went to Sungai Kongkong to wet our

lures there and we were welcomed by our new friendly angler

friend Shahril, who lives there..

Had a great time there and definitely will team up

and come back again soon in search of our target

fish..

redbull.. Oh ya, and super glue too for my

Meet up with Apy at 8pm to catch the outgoing tide for some Kim action..

On Apy's first cast, something hitted his lure hard and took some line but

didn't managed to set the treble.. Awesome though, its only his first cast!

So i come close to him and cast to the same direction......

Seconds later, BOOM!!! Got myself a strong take, fish on!

Catfish... No wonder.... zzzzz.... :)

As the tide is moving down slowly, the surface is busy with

crazy baitfishes jumping around.. *must be some Kim frenzy

underneath.. Just the right species we're targeting.. So i

changed to my favourite lure and keep on casting passionately..

On my third cast, BOOM!!! A nice 7lbs Kim..

Today me and Apy decided to fish the sunset at our usual spot for some

barra action. Just when we reached the spot, i saw a big barra leap

out of the water right in front of me! *good sign* So both of us

kept casting and casting....

After 15mins of casting, suddenly i had a strong sharp

take, boom! fish on! I tot it must be the big barra that

i saw just now but i was wrong.. Its a good sized MJ.

10mins later, Apy landed a nice MJ too. Its his

first MJ on lure.. We only landed 2 MJ's

instead of barra..hehehe.. :)

Soft Plastic VS Hard Bodied Lure

This morning me and Apy returned to our usual spot

but this time i'am strictly on soft plastic, no hard

bodied lure! :)

When we reached the spot, the tide was so damn nice

for us to start our hunting. Without wasting time, i

rigged up my Keitech 'Swing Impact' which i bought

last week and start casting, while Apy was already

bz casting his Aile Magnet...

On my third cast after the first twitch, i had a strong

sharp take, i paused for 2secs and immediately set

the hook. Fish is on! I'am so happy regardless what

fish it is. As it comes closer, i was even happier to

see that it was a good sized flathead!

No choice Apy got to stop casting and help me

with the photo..hehe.. Apy was like,"how come

so fast you landed oredi, are you cheating?"

hehehe.. I just smiled... :)

i landed an even nicer kim on the same weapon!!!

The amazing 'cuda'

We fished the outgoing tide hoping for some good action. When

we reached the spot, the tide was just 2hrs on the falling and it

means the predators has just started their recess time! So me

and Apy quietly stand side by side and begin to cast.....

After 15min of casting, Apy got a shocked by something that

hit his lure hard and the leader was cut off in a split second!

Apy got blur and dont know what to do after that! hehehe..

So i told him for that case, usually its a big barracuda and

immediately i change my lure to a more flashy ones, just in case.. :)

On my 2nd cast, BOOMZ! Iam into a fight with a

'cuda'.

After landing the fish, I just got a feeling that this might

be the same fish that Apy lost just now.. Amazingly true

enough, there's 2 lures in its mouth!!!! mine and Apy's. :)

We call it off soon after that coz the rain

about to fall... :)

Another luring session with Apy and myself early this morning. A nice

MJ says 'hello' to me first this time! It landed on the same lure again

'Daiwa Dr Minnow'. Hehe i think MJ seems to like this lure a lot..

After releasing my fish, the action stops immediately and the fishes

starts biting again just after the daybreak and i had 4 missed, grrrrr!!!

After landed 4pcs, we called it a day coz the sun is really heating up,

'bue tahan' arrr...hehe

asking me to go catch some, coz he wants to learn

how to work a deep diving minnow. But today, 'No

need deep diver oso can kena grouper!' hehe.. Lucky!

I've been searching for this Maria AK high and low for quite

sometime already. Finally i got it now and it means the fish
is back!!! :)

Today our luring session is super on time! hehe.. but i had a shock of my life

while walking towards the spot... Guess what was it? Its a black spitting

cobra about a metre plus dashed right INFRONT of me, OMG!!!

Anyway, when we reached the spot... Apy took out his trusted

'maria chase' which he used to land a kim on the last trip and

started casting with it passionately. I was like gonna laugh

looking at him so focusing on the retrieving as he is new to luring.. :)

hehe AGAIN, 10mins later he shouted KENA! KENA!

Its a nice slightly above 2kg kim at the end of his line

This kim really gave him a hell of a good fight!

20mins later after Apy's kim was released, its my turn to land

my first nice kim of the day.. But the action doesn't stops

there... Apy got himself another nice kim again after that!

Luckily before the full time whistle, iam

rewarded with a nice little mangrove jack.

Total of 4 pcs for the day.. :)

Barramundi kills the itch..

This morning me and Apy went to check out a spot somewhere in 'singapore' to catch the outgoing tide for some barra action. We're suppose to reach the spot at 10 but

we reached at 11 instead coz Apy forgot his wallet and i was like WTF! :)

When we reached the spot, we only have about half an hour to

fish before the lowest tide.. So we quickly start casting

and 10mins later Apy hit his very first barramundi aka kim

on lure that is given by me...hehehe...

After that, its my turn to land another nice kim

and kill my itch!

But i still strongly believe in 'old time' favourite lures coz of its deadly swimming actions and its way much cheaper like the Maria XJ First Born, Grossari, Bomber, Yozuri Mag Minnow, Nil Master and hell lot more brands during its time.. These are the lures that really catches fish those days, just need to select the right ones

for the tackle box...

What iam gonna share with you is the lure that i used to land my record barramundi.

Yozuri mag minnow 90mm. Originally it's in sardine colour.. Coz of the lazy

swimming action when slow retrieved and the right depth, i customised it to a

more deadlier colour for luring in a low visibility yellowish cum murky water.

A pure matt milk white body with a bit of fluoro pink at the top of the head

and two slashes on the sides for better contrast and not to spook the 'kim'.

This is one of my best customised colour i've ever made

and landed at least 30 kims ranging frm 2lbs to 9lbs on it including

my massive barramundi.. :)

The sky was very dark when we reached, so i started casting my 'seabass college'... after 10mins of casting, DZ hit a nice size barramundi but lost it due to blunt hooks! WTF, treble hooks so rusty! the moment he loses the fish, it began to rain heavily..

Since the fish is biting, we decided to fish in the rain this time.. so i changed to my favourite and trusted 'maria angel kiss'. true enough, 5mins later something hit my lure.. its a baramundi! so happy although its much smaller than the one DZ lost just now..

Old grouper playground

Yesterday... after 5mins of discussion, me and 'papa lemon' decided

to visit one of our favourite grouper spot.

a nice foul hooked catfish using 'halco sorcerer 125' provides even nicer fight!!! we tot its a big grouper, or is it a new species of grouper with whiskas!!?? hehehe good work Papa Lemon!

hello! luring has been my passion for the past million years. i roamed up and down, high and low and sometimes to 'NO TRESPASSING' places in search of my dream fishes. seriously, fishing in singapore are sucks nowadays. i can see 'NO FISHING' signs almost everywhere i go and thats what i hate the most! i wonder where shall our grandchildren might be fishing in the future since the fishing spots are so limited now. ask them to fish in their own fish tank!!! hahahahahahaha..... these are just some of my photo collections of lure caught fishes that every lure angler would love to catch. 'Mangrove Jack, Trevally, Bream, Queenfish, Grouper, Barracuda, The Great Barramundi' and few other species.......

this is one of my favourite and trusted lure, Maria Angelkiss 90mm, colour customised by myself . i'll never leave home without it..

a nice black bream was caught using seabass college 80mm customised colour.

a fine sized trevally on IMA lure. i only caught a total number of 5pieces on lure, rare! dozens of barramundi ranging from 2lbs to 8lbs. here are some photos of it.

this 14lbs silver beauty was spotted while feeding just 2 METRES from the shoreline. i just need to cast my killer IMA lure at her 2 times and BOOM.. iam into the fight! fast blistering run, superb fish! this one i actually surrendered to my mom for fish head curry.. bon apetite!!!
this nice barramundi is from an island nearby. i burst 4 times that night but thank god i managed to land 2 pieces, 14lbs and 13lbs. :)

this 27lbs barramundi hit my 90mm gold/black Chug Bug while i was doing some slow popping for queenie! successfully landed and released. it maked my day! :)
this 33kg massive barramundi was caught using yozuri mag minnow (customised colour) 90mm!!! 10lbs braid and 2000 sized 'diawa primax' spinning reel. it was estimated about 120yards of madness on the first straight run when she just hit the lure and about 70yards on the second. its all good after that and i just need to crab her way back to me. this mama didnt leap out of the water due to its size but swirl under the surface dozens of times just to make me nervous and break the line, but i didnt! :) actually i was lucky to land this beauty mama coz the spots iam fishing is free from rocks and any other kinds of obstructions. tooked about 20mins to successfully landed and released.

there's always two types of anglers in the world. one takes fishing as a hobby, the other one takes it as passion. two big difference between these two anglers, you figure out what is it..... :) these are seriously just some tiny bit photos of my catches which are already in my comp, ain't got no time to load all off em' here coz most of it are just too classic old and prefer to rests in my photo albums!

BARRACUDA, the lure destroyer. many fellow angler hate this fish because of its razor sharp teeth which destroy our rigs and lures. but its still a FISH!

luring has always been my passion. it requires lotsa skills and knowledge to make the targeted fish eat something which is not even real.
